The fan-following which was previously group-orientated previously is now showing their love to the solo artists as well.  In 2024 we have witnessed numerous debutants and solo artists who broke away from their group to achieve an individual identity. BLACKPINK’s Lisa

After parting ways with her management company YG Entertainment and Interscope Records in 2023, BLACKPINK’s Lisa came with a bomb. On June 28, 2024, she released her digital solo song ROCKSTAR. Since its release the song’s upbeat beats and perfect blend of hip-hop and hyperpop have managed to conquer the hearts of the listeners. 

The song has achieved significant commercial success as well peaking at number four on the Billboard Global 20 and also ranking number one on the Global Excl. U.S. chart. 

TWICE’s Nayeon

TWICE’s Nayeon sweetheart Nayeon released her EP NA on June 14, 2024. Featuring five singles, the lead track ABCD’s has become quite popular among the listeners. Breaking away from her sweet and innocent aura the K-pop star tends to showcase a stronger and more mature side of her personality. 

BTS’ Jimin

The Grammy-nominated Band member’s highly anticipated second solo album, MUSE released on July 19, 2024. Featuring seven tracks including Closer Than This, the pre-release single Smeraldo Garden Marching Band. The album earned immense domestic success with over 771,000 copies sold in its first week however failed to make a mark internationally. 

Moreover, selling over 83,000 physical copies, the album has also reached number three on Japan’s Oricon Albums Chart.

ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo: K-pop Solo Debut

Cha Eun Woo’s much-awaited debut solo debut album, ENTITY stormed on February 15. With the incredible five singles, the album explores the themes of love, disappointment, heartbreak, and separation. 

The title track, Stay, also has a visually captivating video featuring India Eisley. K-pop star shows his different side as a musical phenomenon via this album.

IU

The stunning Nation’s Sweetheart, IU, gifted his fans her sixth extended play, The Winning, on February 20, 2024. 

Featuring some soothing soulful tracks like ‘Love wins all’, ‘Holssi’ and ‘Shopper’ this EP comes across as one of the most successful creations of all. 

Especially with the thrilling and adorable music video of the single ‘Love Wins All’ featuring BTS’s V, IU totally proved herself as the K-pop queen.
