An uncertain accident happened on Wednesday in Gwangju, the southern city of South Korea. The report says that around 9 people were killed and 8 people got gravely injured during the incident.
A 5-story building that was under the demolition process collapsed onto a bus that had stopped near the building.
The disaster happened on Wednesday afternoon; a travel bus stopped on the street beside the demolition site in Gwangju city. Fire and Safety headquarter Officials report that the bus was some 270 km (168 miles) southwest of the capital Seoul when the building broke down on it.
Initially, about 12 individuals were assumed to be on the bus.
But later on, as the firefighters searched for the rescue, more victims were found trapped inside the bus. The bus was departing around 17 individuals on the journey.
Two neighboring passenger cars were also assumed to have been buried under the rubble. Which the authorities later denied saying that the cars managed to escape narrowly through the accident. The closed-circuit video footage shows the same, the officials said.
A shop owner, across the street of the construction site, Mr. Yang IK-je was jump scared by the loud thud of the building collapsing, as he says he experienced as if the earth was trembling in front of his eyes.
The proprietor also explained how he wasn’t able to see the road clearly as if a thick fog shrouded the incident. He had to check in the CCTV for the whereabouts of the bus and building.
A team of rescuers is also searching for any construction workers or pedestrians who might have been buried beneath the debris. The officials at the Gwangju Fire and Safety Headquarters have not yet found the exact cause of the breakdown.
The cause of the collapse is not immediately known, Safety officials at the Gwangju confirmed.
The uncertainty of life is the most dangerous one. One minute you’re alive, the next minute your whole life flashes in front of you, with excruciating pain and chaos to set tremors down your dying soul. Accidents are one of the worst sorts of death that is possible to someone.
