Singer Doja Cat is currently the talk of the town for her controversial Wet Wet T-Shirt Look at the 2024 Met Gala. The “Woman” singer was spotted in a unique wet look at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday for fashion’s biggest night to celebrate where this year’s theme was “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” paying homage to fashion history. Designed by Vetements in the soaking wet T-shirt the singer appears on the red carpet while being sure to not put too much on display as she covers her chest area as she walks up the green stairs inside. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight the rapper unveiled the true meaning behind the dress. Let’s check out the complete details of this story.
Doja Cat said her flower of choice was the most-used flower which is cotton
Talking with the media house the rapper said of her dress, “I know that people were going to do flowers, so my flower of choice was the most-used flower and it’s cotton, and so I wanted to do a white T-shirt because a white T-shirt is timeless and felt very poetic and I knew it wasn’t really going to blend in. I really don’t like to blend in.”
Moreover, she also admitted that the dress is actually wet.
“I’m actually wet right now,” she shared with Entertainment Tonight. “I’m not supposed to give the secret but it’s hair gel. It’s all hair gel and it’s all over.”
She added, “I’m performing, it’s a show tonight. I’m probably going to sit in the chair wet all night.”
Before arriving at the venue the Grammy winner was spotted leaving The Mark Hotel alongside Vetements designer, Guram Gvasalia. She also presented a unique look there as well since she wore a white towel that spread slightly above her knees as she got into the car. She also completed her look with a matching wrapped towel on her head.
The “Paint The Town Red” rapper’s black mascara smudged down to her face and onto her neckline where she wore a diamond chain.
The songstress always shows a funky and unconventional look at the Met as last time she paid tribute to Karl Lagerfeld dressed as a bedazzled cat on the red carpet.
