‘Squid Game’ Season 2 Teaser Out: Lee Jung-jae is Back in the Board With New Competitors

Netflix shared the new teaser of the much-awaited season 2 of the blockbuster Korean series ‘Squid Game.’ On August 12, the teaser ‘Welcome Players’  was added to the season’s lineup. As the teaser progressed the new number of the upcoming contestants popped up on screen increasing anticipation of the fans. On top of that, in this final season Seong Gi-hun, played by Lee Jung-jae, will also re-enter the game.  Seong Gi-hun was also the winner of the last game, therefore it’ll be incredibly interesting to see what he brings to this new season. The ‘Squid Game’ season 2 teaser highlighted the entry of Player 456 

The teaser presents some fresh numbers indicating the new players’ identities. However, throughout the teaser player no.456 played by  Lee Jung-jae has been highlighted. 

Weeks earlier, Netflix officially announced the release of the much-anticipated series with a 43-second video on their social media.

The post is captioned, “The real game begins. Squid Game Season 2 is coming on December 26. The Final Season coming 2025.”

The video shows the iconic antagonist Front Man saying, “It’s been three years. Do you want to play another game?”

As for the storyline of the new and final season, the official synopsis reads, “Three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 remains determined to find the people behind the game and put an end to their vicious sport. Using this fortune to fund his search, Gi-hun starts with the most obvious of places: look for the man in a sharp suit playing ddakji in the subway. But when his efforts finally yield results, the path toward taking down the organisation proves to be deadlier than he imagined: to end the game, he needs to re-enter it.”

Squid Game Season 2 Starcast

The Season 1 actors  Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, and Gong Yoo will reprise their roles in this new season. On the other side, new faces like Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Park Sung-hoon, Jo Yu-ri, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Lee Jin-uk, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, and Won Ji-an will be joining the universe of this deadly game. 

For now, Squid Game fans mark your calendar on December 26.
