Music director Pritam Chakraborty achieved a new milestone in his career. The talented musician won the Best Music Director award at the National Film Awards 2024 ‘Brahmastra’. This is also his first-ever National Award. Chakraborty won the award with AR Rahman. As for Rahman, he earned the award for creating the background score for ‘Ponniyin Selvan Part 1’. ‘Brahmastra’ also bagged two other awards at the prestigious event for the Best Film in AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comic) category and also Best Male Singer for Arijit Singh for the romantic song ‘Kesariya.’ Let’s check out the complete details of this segment.
Pritam expressed his gratitude for the recognition
While talking with Hindustan Times, the music director said, “This feels so special. I am so grateful to the jury.”
He continues, “I really want to thank the makers and everyone who was associated with the movie for their support and trust in me. But, most importantly, a big thank you to the audience for all their love to our music.”
Apart from the music composer, the director of ‘Brahmastra’ Ayan Mukerji, and lead actress Alia Bhatt also celebrated the movie’s incredible milestone at the honorable platform.
On Monday, 12th August The 70th National Film Awards were announced to felicitate the remarkable movies and music from 2022.
As for the other honor Rishab Shetty and Nithya Menen won Best Actor in the male and female category while Malayalam film Aattam won Best Film.
Actor Rishab Shetty who bagged the award for his role in Kantara, said of the achievement, “Winning the Best Actor National Award is an overwhelming honour. This recognition is not just mine, it’s a victory for the spirit of Kannada cinema and the rich stories that define our culture.”
On the other hand, Nithya Menen who got acknowledged as the Best Actress for the Gujarati film Kutch Express, shared, “I am shooting for my new film, and got a message from Anand Tiwari ‘Congratulations on the National Award’ I exclaimed ‘what!’ He was the person who broke the news to me. I am still processing it, I can’t believe it.”
Needless to say, this year’s National Award comes with some exceptional winners.
