Producer-director Nikkhil Advani’s 2020 collaboration with actor and stand-up comedian Vir Das in the dark-comedy crime series ‘Hasmukh’ has conquered the audience. Therefore, fans are highly looking forward to the sequel of the series. However, to our distress for now Advani hinted that the anticipated fans might have to wait for a long time. Advani revealed that Das who played the titular character in the series has recently caught up with his mother and took a break from the sequel. In an interview with IndiaToday.In he unveiled a lot of details about the second installment of the popular series. Let’s check out what details he has disclosed.
Nikkhil Advani revealed there is no update on ‘Hasmukh 2”
Advani who serves as the writer in the Netflix series revealed there is no update on the next installment.
Additionally, he noted, “It’s an incredible script, it’s an incredible story. Vir has become an international star, and I’m so happy for him. He got an Emmy Award. But, Vir has to take some time off, sit down and write something and Ranvir (Shorey) has to come out of Bigg Boss.”
However, when the interviewer pointed out that Bigg Boss OTT had already ended, he seemed to be quite confused in the response.
Before noting that he couldn’t disclose any more updates he stopped midway while saying, “Oh he has! Then he has to…”
The plot of ‘Hasmukh’
Co-created and written by Nikkhil Advani and directed by Nikhil Gonsalves the story of the series revolves around Hasmukh (Vir Das) a comedy student working under a famous comedian Gulati (Manoj Pahwa). Despite assuring Hasmukh to give a break in the comedy industry Gulati backed off without fulfilling his promise.
After Gulati’s unexpected death, Hasmukh takes his place. However, things took a dark turn after the protagonist realizes the only way to keep his confidence and charm on stage is by murdering people.
Apart from the Emmy Winner (Vir Das) the show also features a bunch of talented actors, including Ranvir Shorey as Jimmy, Amrita Bagchi as Promila, Deeksha Sonalkar as Rhea, Ravi Kishan as Mr. Sinha, Manoj Pahwa as Gulati, Raza Murad as Jameel Indori, and Suhail Nayyar as KK.
