Manav Vij and Gaurav Arora on Their Role on Tanaav 2
Manav who played the role of Kabir Farooqui in the first season is all set to reprise his role in this season as well. However, the actor revealed this time he is going to offer a unique energy to the fans.
He explained, “The energy is different in the second season. Mostly, what people do is they have to prove again that the second season should be better than the first one. There is no competition. The first one was very good. The second is also good, but they have changed the hidden energy of this season. When you watch it, you’ll understand what I’m saying. The prep was more because it is more intense and there is more action. We went for physical training and workshops.”
Apart from that Vij has also gone through a physical transformation as he noted, “I had to gain weight for the first season. I was 104 kg. I had to lose weight for this season. When you work with Sudhir Mishra, he will not play according to the gimmick of the world. The character has to do it because it’s required. Otherwise, it will become a project. It has to have a soul.”
As for Arora, he sees this new season as a bigger opportunity. “Like he [Manav] said, season one was a hit. When you’re going on to the next season, there’s a big responsibility that this has to be better than what we have already given the audience. A lot of focus was on that in terms of production value, action, storytelling – it’s on another level is what I feel. It looks bigger. Right now, I can only talk about that. Once you see the show, you’ll know that even in terms of emotions, intensity and what you see in Kashmir, it’s more real, more to the point. It’s a really fast-paced, edge-of-a-seat-thriller, and you’ll really enjoy it,” the actor noted.
The series which is the remake of Israeli show, ‘Fauda’ has offered re-imagination of the concept with the backdrop of Kashmir.
‘Tanaav 2’ will begin premiering on Sony Liv from September 6.
