Lady Gaga went candid with her romance with fiancé Michael Polansky. The “Bloody Mary” singer finally shared a complete update on her relationship with the tech investor. She shared the way her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, played an important role in their relationship. In an interview with Vogue published on September 5, the songstress who recently made her red-carpet debut with her would-be husband at the Venice International Film Festival shared some details about the initiation of their romance. Lady Gaga revealed how her and fiancé Michael Polansky’s love blossomed
Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, detailed the incident of how her mother discovered Polansky.
She said, “My mom met him and she said to me, ‘I think I just met your husband. I’m not ready to meet my husband!’ I could never have imagined that my mom—found the most perfect person for me?”
Needless to say, Michael’s first meeting with Gaga’s mother through philanthropic endeavors indeed turned into the greatest moment of her life. After the meeting with Gaga’s mother the pair finally met at a mutual friend’s birthday party in 2019. In fact, at the time of their first meeting they talked for three hours and also had “the most amazing” conversation.
The singer shared, “The missing piece in my life was having real love.”
“I was struck immediately by her warmth and openness,” he added. “She was so genuinely curious about what my life was like growing up in Minnesota.”
However, this isn’t the time their romance kicked off. She revealed at the time the COVID-19 pandemic they finally found the string of events that helped take their relation beyond friendship.
“It was really kind of special,” she continues, “I’d been so focused on my career since I was a teenager. And the gift of that time was that I got to completely focus on my relationship. I met this totally supportive, loving human being who wanted to get to know me—outside of Lady Gaga.”
Addressing their lockdown diaries the singer noted, “We had this amazing chapter of a weird kind of normalcy that’s essential for any relationship to develop in a real way—taking walks, making coffee, hanging out with the dogs, reading books together. I think she loved the chance to slow down. She’s been operating at an unfathomable level of intensity for years and it’s no secret it had caught up to her.”
Gaga added, “He’s so smart and so kind. And his life and my life are very different. He’s a very private guy and he’s not with me for any other reason than that we are right for each other.”
