Good news for Rajinikanth fans. The south superstar’s highly-anticipated movie Vettaiyan’s trailer release date is finally out now. On September 30, the makers announced a brand new poster of Thalaivar from the upcoming venture. The trailer is going to be out nearly eight days before the release of the movie which is on October 11. In case you don’t know, this movie also marked the reunion of the superstar with Bollywood’s Shahenshah Amitabh Bachchan 33 years after the release of their 1991 film Hum. Everything we know about the trailer of Vettaiyan
The film’s producer Lyca Productions wrote on X, “The Target is set! The Vettaiyan trailer is dropping on October 2nd. Get ready to catch the prey. #Vettaiyan Releasing on 10th October in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi & Kannada! (sic).”
In March 2023, the film was officially announced under the tentative title Thalaivar 170, marking the 170th film of Rajinikanth as a lead actor. Later on the official title was announced in December 2023. Previously in October 2023 Principal photography commenced and ceased in August 2024. As for the locations, it has shot in several locations featuring Thiruvananthapuram, Tirunelveli, Chennai, Mumbai, and Hyderabad.
This upcoming action-drama, which has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander, also has S. R. Kathir as the cinematographer and Philomin Raj as the editor.
This also makes Ravichander’s fourth collaboration with Rajinikanth after Petta (2019), Darbar (2020) and Jailer (2023).
Moreover, it has been written and directed by TJ Gnanavel who is notable for his acclaimed films Kootathil Oruthan and Jai Bhim. On top of that, the screenplay was written by B Kiruthika.
Apart from Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan the movie includes Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, Rohini, Rao Ramesh, and Ramesh Thilak in pivotal roles.
Vettaiyan is going to hit theatres worldwide on 10 October 2024 on the auspicious day of Vijayadashami.
Needless to say, this festival there’s going to be a blast in the theatres with the release of such an exceptional collaboration of the superstars of both of the renowned industries of India.
