DDG unveiled the reason he and Halle Bailey parted ways after two years of dating. The rapper first announced the news of the split via his social media on October 3. The news comes exceptionally shocking for their fans as he recently welcomed a baby boy with the Little Mermaid star.
During a Sunday, Oct. 6 episode of his No Ordinary Podcast, DDG whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr shared why they decided to end their relationship. Moreover, he revealed to be on amicable terms with his ex and said they are forever family. Here’s the details about everything he disclosed.

The 26-year-old said in his podcast, “I personally think that people just personally pick on me. That’s really what it is.”
Explaining the reason, he added, “People specifically pick on me because for a long time, people feel like I didn’t belong in the industry or the music industry and this and that. That’s what I feel like, especially me being with Halle. She’s a superstar; she’s the greatest ever. Being around her, I feel like it made a lot of people side-eye me because they had already had… You know, she’s a princess, so they already had their mind set up about her and they look at me and I don’t fit that image.”
He also noted that all was “cool” as he was aware of the cause “she stayed with me” and referring to their son Halo, 10 months he added there’s also a “reason why we had a child together.”
“It’s a reason why all of this happened,” the rapper continues. “Me and Halle are forever family, forever.”
Moreover, addressing the criticism surrounding their break-up, he said, “I feel like people should keep that in their head when they talk about us. You’re talking about our family. You need to relax. I feel like y’all don’t consider that at all. If I’m hurting, you know, that can be hurting my baby that you love so much.”
“I feel like a lot of people forget that,” the rapper exclaimed.
It’s also DDG that first announced their separation on October 3 via an Instagram story. For now, The Colour Purple actress is yet to address the break-up publically.
