The authorities haven’t finally shed light on the cause of the death of former One Direction member Liam Payne. The singer who passed away on October 16 after falling from a hotel building in Argentina might have been under the influence of alcohol during the time of his death.
After the “Strip That Down” singer fell from a third-story balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, Alberto Crescenti, the Buenos Aires emergency services chief revealed to La Nación that the singer got “serious injuries” which makes the resurrection impossible. The singer’s autopsy report is yet to come out since his body is under postmortem. Let’s check out what the authorities have revealed.
Buenos Aires emergency services chief revealed Liam Payne’s injuries were incompatible with life
Chief Alberto Crescenti said in Spanish to the Argentine publication, “Our role was to head there quickly, give medical attention, and try to resuscitate him, but his injuries were incompatible with life. Based on what the team saw, there was apparently a cranial fracture and extremely serious injuries that led to his immediate death.”
As the autopsy is yet to be revealed Crescenti noted his team could not give life-saving care on the scene due to the singer’s fatal injuries.
“The team could do absolutely nothing,” he added. “There was no resuscitation because it was confirmed that he had died. The whole body had very serious injuries.”
Although the autopsy as well as the toxicology report is still pending, Liam’s preliminary autopsy reported the cause of death to be “internal and external hemorrhage.”
The singer’s tragic death comes two weeks after he and his girlfriend Kate Cassidy had attended former bandmate Niall’s tour stop in Buenos Aires on Oct. 2.
Liam even detailed the reunion in a Snapchat video on Oct. 1, saying, “It’s been a while since Niall and I have spoken. We’ve got a lot to talk about. And I would like to square up a couple of things with the boy. No bad vibes or anything like that. But just, um, we need to talk.”
Moreover, Liam Payne’s family consists his of 7-year-old son Bear—whom he shares with ex Cheryl Cole—his parents Karen and Geoff Payne, and his older sisters Ruth and Nicola, shared a statement to BBC on the news of his demise.
“We are heartbroken,” the statement noted. “Liam will forever live in our hearts and we’ll remember him for his kind, funny, and brave soul. We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time.”
