MTV Movie & TV Awards 2021 took place on Sunday. And it was seen that WndaVision, the Disney+Marvel hit has collected four awards. This includes the award of the best show.
After such a long gap due to the pandemic, the fan-voted show returned in front of an in-person audience at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.
Since Marvel released the film Avengers: Endgame in 2019, it has started releasing the Marvel Comic-inspired mini-series.
Talking about the best movie, the award went straight to the Netflix teen romance “To All The Boys: Always And Forever”.
The MTV award for the best performance was won by WandaVision star Elizabeth Olsen. She played the role of the avenger Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch.
While collecting her award she said, “Marvel fans, you guys are just the greatest fans anyone can have and I’ve loved playing this part for seven years.”
On the other hand, Scarlett Johansson accepted the generation award remotely. She was covered in slime by her husband Colin Jost, Saturday Night Live comedian.
Chadwick Boseman earned the award for best performance in the movie Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. The 43-year-old actor died last year of bowel cancer.
The MTV award was also earned by Rege-Jean Page for the best breakthrough performance. He was the lead actor in the period drama Bridgerton – Netflix’s biggest show ever.
The actor is also rumoured to be in the running to play the next James Bond. He said in a video acceptance speech: “We wanted everyone to know they deserve love stories, they deserve happily ever afters, no matter who they are, no matter where they’re from.
WandaVision won two other awards that night. One was for the best flight – Wanda vs Agatha, and the other was for the best villain – Katherine Hahn.
