It’s been nearly 8 years since Brooklyn Nine-Nine grabbed the attention of millions of viewers across the globe.
Due to its excellent ensemble cast, flawless cold opens and amazingly heartfelt stories – the comedy show quickly gained massive popularity.
Hence, NBC announced the eighth season in November 2019 and surprised the fans. Herer’s everything you must know about Nine-Nine’s last chapter –
Release Date
Last year in August it was made official that the eighth instalment would be out by 2021.
Because of the pandemic, the filming of the show started in April 2021 and now we finally have a premiere date!
The season will consist of ten episodes and is scheduled to air on 12th August 2021.
Plot
This season revolves around Jake and Amy handling their cases along with raising a baby.
At the end of the seventh season, we were introduced to the youngest member of the cast: Jake and Amy’s son – McClane.
It will be interesting to see how the newly turned parents would handle new responsibilities.
In addition, Jake and Amy approach life in very different ways, so they will probably have different ideas when it comes to parenting as well.
Amy is… Amy – making color-coded binders on baby’s everyday habits while Jake still acts like a kid, although he has done a fair amount of growing up since Season 1.
Nevertheless, hilarity will no doubt supervene.
Cast
As usual Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s most prominent characters will return to entertain their fans.
This includes Andy Samberg (Jake Peralta), Terry Crews (Terry Jeffords), Joe Lo Truglio (Charles Boyle), Melissa Fumero (Amy Santiago), Stephanie Beatriz (Rosa Diaz) and Andre Braugher (Captain Raymond Holt).
In addition to them, Dirk Blocker and Joel McKinnon Miller will reprise their roles as Detectives Michael Hitchcock and Norman Scully.
Further Gina Linetti played by Chelsea Peretti is also joining the cast.
Excited yet sad
I’m too excited to watch season 8 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine but also sad.
When NBC announced it had ordered an eighth season, the cast for super happy and celebrated on Twitter. And of course, there were tears involved.
In a recent interview with Seth Meyers, Terry Crews got very emotional over the show ending. But he is not alone in this sadness, every Brooklyn Nine-Nine fan is on the verge of tears.
That being said, we still have an entire season to go before the lights go out in the 99th Precinct.
There will be plenty of laughs to go around before we have to cue the waterworks.
