Actor Angelina Jolie won a legal battle against ex-husband Brad Pitt in an emotional war over a French winery. In 2008, the couple bought the Chateau Miraval winery for an estimated $28.3 million. Even though they agreed to not sell their interests in the company, Pitt sued Jolie. He accused her of selling her part of the French vineyard. Now, Jolie’s team subpoenaed documents from Brad on July 22.
In 2022, Brad Pitt sued Angelina Jolie for selling her share of the French estate to the Stoli Group. The 405-hectare French estate is home to swimming pools and a helicopter pad. In addition, it was also the venue for Angelina and Brad’s wedding in 2014. According to a report in Page Six, despite Brad fighting tooth and nail to deny Angelina Jolie’s request for any papers, a judge in Los Angeles denied his request and told him to turn over the documents to Jolie. The report also added that Brad turned down an offer to sell the estate to the Stoli Group.
The ex-couple got married in 2014 and Angelina filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016
Angelina filed for divorce from Brad Pitt in 2016. In 2021, Jplie told her ex-husband that she sold her shares of their French vineyard to the Stoli Group. Pitt’s lawsuit against Angelina said, “She told her ex-husband that she sold her part of their French winery to the Russian oligarch in January 2021. “She sold her interest with the knowledge and intention that Shefler and his affiliates would seek to control the business to which Putt had devoted himself and to undermine Pitt’s investment in Miraval”.
The ex-couple met in 2003 while filming the movie Mr. and Mrs Smith. Angelina and Brad separated more than five years ago, but their divorce process lasted years, and the custody dispute over their children – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox – is still going on. Angelina adopted two of their children, Maddox and Zahara, before her relationship with Brad, who later adopted them both as well.
