Marvel actor Chadwick Boseman’s wife Simone Ledward opened up about her late husband’s cancer journey. The Black Panther star died on August 28 in 2020 battling colon cancer. He was only 43 years old at that time. After almost two years Ledward talked about the life and legacy of her late husband. On November 1, in an interview with Good Morning America, she spoke about their relationship.
Simone Ledward is lucky to love Boseman
Talking with the interviewer Whoopi Goldberg, Ledward told how she dealt with Chadwick’s passing,” the most challenging two years I’ve ever had in my life.”
“I can’t believe that I was so lucky, I can’t believe that I got to love this person, and I also got them to love me too.”- she continued.
Furthermore, she talked about how covid-19 pandemic affects their life in that situation. “That meant that everybody was in their house, and there was no pressure for anybody to go outside. It seemed like, ‘Is this a crazy coincidence that we get to actually be inside? We get to be here with family, together. And everybody in the world is also experiencing this togetherness in the midst of this awful, scary, unpredictable time. We kept our circle real—our circle was basically a dot.”- Simone said.
In Boseman’s passing statement it was revealed that he married Ledward. The couple started dating in 2014. However, the exact date of their marriage isn’t revealed but it is around the year 2020. Simone was is there by his side during Boseman’s battle with stage III Colon cancer.
Recalling the mourning process, Ledward said,”Some days I’m doing worse than I’m really willing to acknowledge and other days I’m doing better than I feel comfortable admitting. You know, the grief it moves in.”
We hope she may get the strength to pass this irreplaceable grief.
Chadwick’s last Black Panther film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will release posthumously on November 11.
