Henry Cavill who famously portrayed Superman is not reprising the character of Superman in James Gunn’s latest film. On December 14, the actor announced this sad news via his official Instagram account. This news comes a month after his return as Clark Kent in Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam. It’s indeed sad news for the Justice League fans who love Cavil as Superman.

The 39-year-old first broke out the news on December 14 via his Instagram ( https://www.instagram.com/p/CmK7eLWJ0as/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link ). “I have just had a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran and it’s sad news, everyone,I will, after all, not be returning as Superman.”- the actor wrote.
Cavill played the character in Man of Steel, Justice League, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and most recently in Black Adam.
Its shocking news as the actor in October announced his return as Clark Kent. Moreover, he also shared a teaser writing,” the image you see in this post and what you saw in Black Adam are just a very small taste of things to come.”
Unfortunately, time takes an unexpected turn.
“After being told by the studio to announce my return back in October, prior to their hire, this news isn’t the easiest, but that’s life,”- the Justice League Star said the same month after leaving Netflix hit The Witcher. “The changing of the guard is something that happens. I respect that. James and Peter have a universe to build. I wish them and all involved with the new universe the best of luck, and the happiest of fortunes.”
The actor also shared a heartwarming statement with his fans, “For those who have been by my side through the years. we can mourn for a bit, but then we must remember. Superman is still around, Everything he stands for still exists, and the examples he sets for us are still there! My turn to wear the cape has passed, but what Superman stands for never will. It’s been a fun ride with you all, onwards and upwards.”
