James Corden revealed in a recent interview with Drew Barrymore on his Show on Jan. 2, why he decided to leave The Late Late Show. James seems to have no regrets about it. Check out the details in the following.
James Corden said the decision “feels absolutely right in every single way”
The host of the Late Late Show reveals he planned to exit the show in April month, in his recent appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, on Jan 2.
James explained with a heavy heart,” Nothing about leaving the show was to do with not enjoying it, I love it. But the truth is, it became a very easy decision because I always knew it was an adventure and I never, ever considered it to be the final destination.”
James Corden, who took the Late Late Show from Craig Ferguson in 2015, later added how he did not let his professional life impact negativity in his personal life.
“The choice was to go, ‘Well, if I want to do this other work, that cannot be at the expense of our children, our family. That is really all it comes down to.” he said.
James shared his son Max, 11, and daughters Carey, 8, and Charlotte, 5 with his wife Julia Carey.
The 44-year-old talk show host claims “to put down some roots in London.” As the show was originally filmed in L.A.
Though James said the decision to be “feels absolutely right in every single way,” he admitted saying goodbye will not be easy.
James emotionally said, “I will be a mess on that last show, I will cry my eyes out.”
James signed the extended contract of the Late Late Show back in April, which means the final episode of the show ought to be released this summer. Though a final episode date is yet to be released officially.
The Late Late Show airs every weeknight on CBS.
