Tiffany Haddish revealed her break-up with Common wasn’t mutual. In a recent profile for The Washington Post, she shared the rapper had broken up with him via phone. However, she admits her relationship with Common was “the healthiest, the funniest relationship I’ve ever had.”
Tiffany said the break-up wasn’t mutual
The Haunted Mansion actress revealed, “It wasn’t mutual,” she told the publication. “It was more him saying, ‘I think this relationship has run its course.’ And I was like, ‘OK. Like you gonna be a 50-year-old single man. OK?'”
Moreover, she shared that she had assumed that their relationship would end as she didn’t invite to accompany Common to former President Barack Obama’s birthday that year. Also, she was even absent from the rapper-actor’s birthday celebration as well.
The rapper confirmed their split in 2021 a year after being together. In an appearance at an episode of Hollywood Unlocked With Jason Lee: Uncensored, he revealed they “came to the understanding” of mutual breakup and “that this is what’s gonna be best for us, to still continue to love each other and be there for each other is to not be in a romantic relationship because we won’t be able to give to that.”
He added, “I don’t want to be one foot in, one foot out.”
Meanwhile, Haddish shared how their heartbreak made her hesitate to be in love again.
“I’m a pretty positive person, and I’m here to have an experience,” Haddish revealed. “I would love to have a partner to experience it with. But also, I guess I’ve been alone for so long. And so used to being abandoned, I expect it. Which is sad, right?”
Previously, she shared her experience of having eight miscarriages and shared her plans to embrace motherhood in a different way.
“Well I’ll be honest with you,” The Girls Trip star during the phone call. “This would be my eighth one. I’ve got a uterus shaped like a heart. It just won’t keep anything in.”
