Kristin Davis is keeping a record straight on how she is different from her ‘Sex and the City’ Character Charlotte York. The actress famously portrayed the role of York in this famous 2000s series. On her recent appearance at the Best Friend Energy podcast, she opened up about these facts.
Kristin Davis said she and her character have very different lifestyles
The actress said of her character, “Essence of my personality is the same because I think after 25 years, how could it not be, you know what I mean? We have very different lifestyles. You know, I’m not married. I’ve never been married. It’s not my thing. I was never focused on it.”
Later on, the host’s Shearer and Joanna Teplin point out though marriage is not Davis’ “thing,” but it’s definitely her characters’.
“I know, and that took some acting, let me tell you,” Davis joked.
Although she doesn’t consider herself as a marriage girl, Charlotte’s first wedding to Trey MacDougal (Kyle MacLachlan) happens to be her favourite moment from the show.
“I’m not really a wedding girl, but Charlotte loved it, so I loved it,” Davis added.
For now, Davis and her friend and co-star, Sarah Jessica Parker are reprising their character in the show’s spinoff And Just Like That. However, she will be missed from its second season. She also opened up about Charlotte’s future.
“We know people miss her. We get it. You know, we wanted to kind of acknowledge them and try to give them what they want within the story and the situation that we’re in,” she shared. “And so that seemed the solution, you know, in terms of like, people come and go in your life. Maybe people move or they get married or whatever it is that happens that changes their circumstance, but that doesn’t mean that you’re not friends or that you’re not connected still.”
