Miley Cyrus talked about a pivotal moment in her life. In the September 5 episode of her”Used To Be Young” TikTok series the ‘Flower’ singer talked about the moment she realized her marriage with ex-husband Liam Hemsworth would not work. The couple tied the knot in August 2018 and shortly after a few months in December 2019 they parted ways. Let’s look at the reason for their short marriage.
Miley Cyrus said human comes first
The 30-year-old revealed, “I have to slow down because this is actually serious. So Glastonbury was in June, which was when the decision had been made that me and Liam’s commitment to be married just really came from—a place of love first, because we’ve been together for 10 years—but also from a place of trauma and just trying to rebuild as quickly as we could.”
Moreover, Cyrus revealed on the day of June 30, 2019 during a concert she realized her marriage wouldn’t last, “The day of the show was the day that I had decided that it was no longer going to work in my life to be in that relationship.”
“So that was another moment where the work, the performance, the character came first,” Miley added. “I guess that’s why it’s now so important to me for that not to be the case. The human comes first.”
This isn’t the first time the singer talked about her broken marriage. Previously in an interview with British Vogue in May, the “Wrecking Ball” singer shared that she has no regret for her marriage with the actor.
“I wouldn’t erase my story or want it to be erased,” she shared. “Having an interesting life makes for interesting storytelling.”
