After A-list actresses like Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif left their mark in the south Indian film industry actress Kareena Kapoor might follow the footsteps of her contemporary. In December last year, Yash announced his upcoming movie Toxic with director Geetu Mohandas which will release in April of 2023. In a recent video shared by a Reddit account BollyBlindsNGossip we can see Kareena talking about her South Indian film debut. However, it hasn’t been shocking for fans since the actress has openly shared her admiration for the south Indian films and even in an episode of Koffee with Karan revealed to have loved Yash’s blockbuster film KGF. Kareena Kapoor said she might be doing a very big South film
The 43-year-old superstar who has last seen in Netflix film Jaane Jaan was seen saying in the video, “Now, like I said, I might be doing a very big South film. Now it’s like, all pan-India so I don’t know where I’ll be shooting, but I’m excited for all my fans to know that it’s going to be the first time that I will be doing this.”
The post was captioned,”So I think Kareena’s film with Yash is confirmed! She said this at a zoom meeting with her fans yesterday.”
Right after the video went viral fans were anticipating to see her alongside the South Superstar. As one fan wrote, “She is doing big films like Toxic and Singham and at the same time content-driven films like Jaane Jaan, Crew, The Buckingham Murders. Her longevity is insane.”
Meanwhile, another user wrote, “She will do her first Pan India film opposite Yash at 42 years old! I think it is pretty remarkable considering how sexist film industries can be.”
Needless to say, it will indeed be pretty remarkable for the actress’ admirers.
On top of the speculations, in January this year, an India Today report said that Kareena would play the lead in Yash’s Toxic. The report also added that the makers are “very keen on Kareena, and they have started talks to sign her up for the film.”
Moreover, the actress team also released a statement asking the fans to be patient without confirming her role in the film. The statement reads, “There have been many speculations doing the rounds about Kareena Kapoor Khan’s next film. While we understand the excitement and the anticipation. We request media to refrain from Kareena Kapoor about her next project and its star cast. Something very exciting is coming up very soon and we request everyone to wait for the official announcement.
