Actors Aamir Khan and Suriya are all set to relive their characters in the hit film Ghajini into a franchise. As per the recent media reports both of the superstars of their respective industry have fond of the idea of Ghajini 2 and also agreed to work on the second franchise soon. The idea of the makers is to go for both the Hindi and Tamil versions of the film in order to find their regional audience at the same time. Let’s dig into the complete details of the reports.
The reports revealed shoot of the two Ghajini films to happen at the same time
A recent Pinkvilla confirmed the news of Tamil superstar Suriya’s interest in Ghajini 2 while promoting his latest film, Kanguva. The actor revealed producer Allu Aravind had first put forward the idea of the second part which he really liked.
The entertainment portal quoted the actor, “Ghajini 2 was, actually, surprising that you asked me now. After a long time, Allu Aravind came up with that idea (for a sequel) and asked if that would be possible. I said definitely sir, we can think of it. Yes, the talk has started, the things are in process. Ghajini 2 might happen.”
Interestingly, the source further added Aamir has been simultaneously working with Aravind for the Hindi version of the movie which has a blockbuster first installment.
The source continues, “With things going Pan India, remakes of cult films with popular stars are a thing of the past now. Both Suriya and Aamir Khan are excited by the idea of Ghajini 2, but don’t want the remake tag on their film. They are also concerned that the film arriving first will take away the novelty factor and conveyed their concerns to the producers. On hearing about both the actors, Allu Aravind and Madhu Mantena came up with a solution of shooting the two Ghajini films at the same time frame and bringing them to the big screen on the same day.”
In 2005, the Tamil version of Ghajini, starring Suriya and Asin who joined the Hindi version as well, first hit the theatres and became a groundbreaking film of that year.
After this movie’s incredible success in 2008, the Hindi version starring Amir was released and became the highest-grossing film of that year.
In case everything goes according to plans, the film might get structured by mid-2025. However, none of the actors officially responded to the news.
