It would seem that the rumors are accurate. It has been rumored that Amber Heard would be cut from the upcoming film “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.”

Just a few short weeks after the actress was unsuccessful in her defamation action versus Johnny Depp, JustJared.com confirmed that the actress’ part in “Aquaman 2” had been slashed and that her character, Mera, would be replaced in the next film.

The Hollywood news website reports that reliable sources connected to the development of “Aquaman” have indicated that “The character of Amber has not been eliminated from the movie. She continues to play a supporting role.”

On either hand, information from a different source has shown that the Emerald will be cast.

Following the conclusion of the six-week lengthy defamation trial involving the actress’s ex-husband Johnny Depp, the part that she played in the picture in which Jason Momoa played the central role came under scrutiny. During the trial, Ruby herself stated that she was uncertain whether her role would be included in the finished picture.

She further claimed in court that Warner Bros.’s decision to reduce her part severely and their refusal to boost her salary for the second film resulted from the litigation and the case caused them.

During the evidence, Walter Hamada, the chairman of the DC films sector of Warner Bros., revealed that they had previously contemplated recasting her. Still, they only did so because the actress “lacked chemistry” with Jason. According to what Hamada had to say about the matter, “Editorially, they were able to make that connection work in the first movie; nonetheless, there was a worry that it required a great deal of effort to get somewhere.”

He continued by saying that the “Aquaman 2” plot was initially envisioned as a “buddy movie” involving Jason Momoa and Kevin Wilson, who portray Aquaman’s half-brother, King Orm.
