Angelina Jolie said she didn’t have warm or close relationships to lean on
The 49-year-old actress shared an interesting insight on her perspective on relationships during this latest interview.
The mother-of-six shared, “I don’t really have those kinds of relationships. Maybe it’s losing your parent young. Maybe it’s working. Maybe it’s being somebody who’s been betrayed a lot. I don’t have a lot of those warm, close relationships as much that I lean on.”
In fact, the Maleficent star who lost her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, when she was 31, revealed, “My mother was very close to me. I lost her.”
Nevertheless, she didn’t let this loss affect her life to advocate for human rights, as she put it, “a few is enough.”
“I’ve had a few friends over the years not be there for my family in their hour of need,” the Oscar winner noted, although “I have a couple of people that I trust.”
As for now, the actress is more devoted to her family including kids Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 16, whom she shares with ex Brad Pitt.
Moreover, she even hired Vivienne as her volunteer assistant making it very clear how her kids are important in her life.
Angelina has been open about her choice of being out of the limelight.
The Eternals actress told WSJ. Magazine in December, “I don’t really have…a social life. They are the closest people to me and my life, and they’re my close friends. We’re seven very different people, which is our strength.”
Apart from that, the actress who is immensely focused on her kids also revealed in an interview with Vogue last September that her kids brought light to her life.
“My entire life changed. Having children saved me—and taught me to be in this world differently. I think, recently, I would’ve gone under in a much darker way had I not wanted to live for them,” Jolie explained.
