Angelina Jolie is looking for peace now! Jolie has recently withdrawn a legal petition against the Department of Justice and the FBI over the release of documents about the investigation of her 2016 plane incident with ex-husband Brad Pitt. In April 2022 the actress first filed the lawsuit under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) for the release of the documents on the domestic violence case that occurred in a plane. At that time Jolie supposedly goes by the name of “Jane Doe.” However, the plaintiff’s allegations seemingly matched the FBI report of the former couple’s case. Here’s the complete timeline of the case.

The document of the case’s dismissal noted, “The parties to this action hereby stipulate to dismiss this action with prejudice with each party to bear its own fees and costs.”
Back in 2022, the lawsuit was filed under the name of the plaintiff listed as the anonymous “Jane Doe” for alleged domestic violence in a plane.
The plaintiff accused her then-husband of “allegedly physically and verbally assaulted” her and their kids during a plane ride. It is also mentioned that this incident has caused “lasting physical and mental trauma as a result of the assault.”
Later on, an FBI report found similarities between this prior incident with the September 14, 2016 incident on a flight from Europe to Los Angeles the Maleficent actress charged her then-husband of abusing her and one of their six kids which includes Maddox, 23, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and 16-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.
Eventually, the prosecutors did not press any charges against the Bullet Train star.
Later on, a spokesperson of the judiciary system five weeks after the flight, said, “The FBI has conducted a review of the circumstances and will not pursue further investigation.”
Nonetheless, in the 2022 lawsuit, the plaintiff appealed for the documents of the incident in order to “obtain information necessary for her children to receive medical care and trauma counseling.”
A few months after the incident the couple officially parted ways. Although it’s been a while the bitterness in their relationship still seems to be retained.
Recently, Pitt’s attorneys took a dig at Jolie for going on a “sensationalist fishing expedition” after asking the court to reject any third-party communications of her ex which he’ll present about their 2016 plane incidents.
In answer, Jolie’s lawyer stated in a statement, “While Angelina again asks Mr. Pitt to end the fighting and finally put their family on a clear path toward healing, unless Mr. Pitt withdraws his lawsuit, Angelina has no choice but to obtain the evidence necessary to prove his allegations wrong.”
