Ranbir Kapoor starrer 2023 blockbuster Animal is all set for its sequel Animal Park. As per the reports of Mid-day the makers are planning to start filming in 2025 once Kapoor is done shooting for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. Despite getting mixed responses from the critics the film broke multiple records at the Indian box office making it one of highest highest-grossing films of 2023. Apart from Kapoor, actress Rashmika Mandanna, Tripti Dimri, and actor Bobby Deol also earned massive popularity for this film. Therefore, the fans are eagerly waiting for the much-anticipated sequel of this film. Let’s check what details the reports have stated about the movie.
The report noted Animal Park’s basic structure was ready right when Animal was written
After the cliff-hanging ending of Animal fans established numerous theories for the movie, the ending shows conflict between Kapoor and his doppelganger, exploring the complexities of his relationships, particularly Ranvijay’s (the protagonist) equation with his wife Geetanjali and their children.
An insider told the outlet, “Animal Park’s basic structure was ready right when Animal [2023] was written. It was meant to be a multi-film outing. The second part will focus on Ranbir’s character Ranvijay and his lookalike. The domestic feud between the protagonist and his wife Geetanjali will be taken forward, as will his relationship with his son.”
Moreover, reports also noted Vicky Kaushal might essay the role of Aziz, the prime antagonist of the second installment who later undergoes plastic surgery to look like Vijay. The script for Animal Park has been penned by Pranay Vanga. Helmed by Sandeep Reddy, this second installment will also be directed by Animal Park. Although Reddy is currently busy with his upcoming film Spirit, he has been also closely preoccupied with the development of Animal Park. Moreover, he is actively collaborating with the writers in the latter half of 2024 to bring his vision of magic onscreen.
Animal hit the theatres on December 1 of last year starring Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Prem Chopra and Shakti Kapoor in important roles.
The director also said recently to ETimes noting, “This is going to be bigger and wilder than Animal.” However, he added that the shooting of the film will begin by 2026 denying the report’s claims.
Needless to say, only time will tell if Animal Park will become as grand as Animal.
