Anne Hathaway seems to not be creating history as an actress. Weeks after she reunited with her iconic film Devil Wears Prada’s castmates Emily Blunt and Meryl Streep, on the 2024 SAG Awards stage as a presenter the actress reveals she hasn’t had plans on making the sequel. In a recent interview with E! News the actress noted that although she isn’t interested in the sequel she still wants to reunite with her co-actors Emily Blunt, Meryl Streep and director David Frankel again. The Academy winner said to the media house about the 2006 movie, which was adapted from the Lauren Weisberger novel of the same name, “I don’t think a continuation of that story is probably ever gonna happen, But I think we will continue to give out awards to other people, so I think there’s a future for that.”
Although she “would love” to team up with co-actors Emily Blunt, Meryl Streep and director David Frankel.
Later on, acknowledged the fans’ support by saying, “The truth of the matter is—with any film—all we can do is make it. The reason that movie felt so special was that we were a team and we did that work, but really it’s the love that everybody pours to it.”
Moreover, the 41-year-old jokes,”don’t need to worry about a sequel, let’s just keep the thing that we all agree with love.”
Meanwhile, Hathway also addressed the speculation that her onscreen love interest of her upcoming film The Idea of You is based on Harry Styles.
The actress shuts down the rumors adding, “Everyone needs to chill.” and said of the Robinne Lee’s book adaptation, “Sorry, I probably shouldn’t be that reactive about it, I just think no.”
As for Nicholas Galitzine who played the speculated role revealed he took inspiration from other pop acts rather than from the “Watermelon Sugar” singer.
“There were so many amazing references we used: BTS for a lot of the choreography, which was really great,” Galitzine explained. “There’s so many references out there.”
The Idea of You all set to premiere on Prime Video May 2.
