According to the reports of Entertainment Weekly, Academy-winning actress Anne Hathaway is set to star in the film ‘The Ideal of You’. The film will be based on a fanfiction novel about famous Grammy-winning Singer-actor Harry Styles. Moreover, Hathaway will be playing the role of Sophie. It will be very exciting for her fans to see the talented actress on screen again!
The role of Anne Hathaway in the film
The princess diary star will play the character of Sophie. Talking about her character, she is a 40-year-old divorced woman and a mother of a daughter. Unfortunately, Sophie’s husband left her for another younger woman. Her former husband cancelled the trip to Coachella with their 15-year-old daughter. So she Steps in to take her on a trip where she meets 24-year-old Hayes Campbell. Campbell is the lead singer of a popular Boy Band on the planet, August Moon.
Campbell’s character seems to be inspired by Harry Styles as he is also a young British musician who is the lead singer of his group. Harry is also the lead singer of the famous Boy Band One Direction. Moreover, the ‘As it Was ‘ singer and the character of the film seem to have the same taste in women as Styles dating a woman older than him.
However, the author of the book Robinne explained in an interview with Vogue that this book is not about Harry Styles and wants the reader to be more focused on the character of Sophie. As it’s about a woman finding herself after a broken relationship.

About the film
The film ‘The Ideal of You’ is based on Robinne Lee’s 2017 novel of the same name. The film will be produced by Anne Hathaway, Robinne, Cathy Schulman and Gabrielle Union. Moreover, Kian Gass, Eric Hayes and Jordana Mollick, and Jennifer Westfeldt will be the executive producers of the film. Michael Showalter is the director and co-producer of the film. Hopefully, the production will begin in October of this year.
However, the release date hasn’t been finalised yet.
