Antonio Banderas shared the sweet nickname by which stepdaughter Dakota Johnson called him. Banderas was the ex-husband of Dakota Johnson’s mother Melanie Griffith. However, he is no longer together with her mom and they still share an amazing bond with each other. On December 13, while talking with E-news the actor revealed several sweet moments with Johnson.

The 62-year-old reflected on some adorable moments with stepdaughter Dakota. On December 13, during his interview with E-news, he said the Fifty Shades of Grey star called him ‘Paponio’. The reason behind the unique nickname as she said, “I am ‘Papi’ and ‘Antonio’ altogether, so she always called me ‘Paponio.'”
The Puss in Boots star shared why they didn’t have any plans to reunite. “Dakota became a very busy person, and she’s working all the time.”- he explained.
The actor last reunited with Johnson at film festivals but for them, their special event is the 2019 Hollywood Film Award. In this event, the 33-year-old actress presented the stepdad with the Hollywood Actor Award for his role in Pain And Glory.
Banderas recalled, “She gave it to me and she gave one of the most beautiful speeches that anybody has given me, So, I was very thankful to know that she thought that about Papi.”
Later on, he talked about his other special relationship with Puss in Boots: The Last Wish co-star Salma Hayek. They first met on the set of the 1995 film Desperado. However, they “kept the relationship going as friends for many years.”
“Worked together again in Frida after that, and then came Puss in Boots, and we’ve done two of those”- he added.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish will hit the theatres on December 21.
