Atlee is revealed to be not certain if he’s making a Shah Rukh Khan starring Jawan sequel or not. The Badshah of Bollywood, who was on a sabbatical for four long years, finally returned with box-office blockbusters Pathaan and Jawan. Although Rajkumar Hirani helmed Dunky failed to match the beat with these two audiences anyway seems to love it. Jawan, directed by south-genious Atlee, predominantly broke multiple records making fans eagerly waiting for the sequel. However, fans will be pretty disappointed to know that Atlee hasn’t yet planned any sequel of this blockbuster. In a recent interview with ABP Network the director has finally spoken up. Let’s check out what he has revealed.
Atlee said Jawan Sequel is not happening
The director was asked if he is working on the sequel to which he responded, “I am not sure about it. But I will write something, I will surprise. Every film had a chance of coming up with a sequel but I always surprise the audience with more, different content. So, I will come up with something. Let’s see.”
Since he hasn’t opened up a lot about working with Shah Rukh Khan again he asked if he wanted to work again with the superstar, “Of course, there is no denial. We will work together. When, how, what, it’s all with Shah Rukh sir.”
Likewise Shah Rukh has addressed the sequel at a fan meet organised on his birthday last year.
He quipped while he was asked about the sequel, “It’s very easy for me to make Jawan 2. Main abhi Atlee ko call karunga aur hum banaa lenge. Usko kya bolte hai? Franchise film! (I can call Atlee right away and we can make Jawan into a franchise). But I don’t want to do that. I want to make new kind of movies, and play new characters for all of you. A film like Dunki will speak volumes to you and entertain you so much! As a matter of fact, I do feel that it will entertain more than Jawan and Pathaan.”
For now, the Badshah has Tiger vs Pathaan along with Salman Khan on his plate along with an upcoming flick with daughter Suhana Khan. However, the official announcements are still yet to come.
