Anurag Kashyap and Gulshan Devaiah starring in the crime thriller series Bad Cop’s teaser are finally out now. On May 31, Disney+ Hotstar shared the official teaser on their social media. The teaser shows an evil-looking Anurag in a gangster-like avatar while brandishing a gun, smoking, and dancing. Parallelly Gulshan Devaiah was seen in the role of a cop named Karan, who seems to have a physiological disorder called split personality. In his dual personality, he has a darker side named Arjun. This series is reminiscent of Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan starrer 1995 film ‘Karan Arjun.’ Let’s check out some more details about this much-awaited upcoming series.

Anurag Kashyap and Gulshan Devaiah on Bad Cop

Anurag Kashyap who is mostly notable for his directorial crime-thriller venture Gangs of Wasseypur, Black Friday, Ugly will be showing his acting talent in this series. Prior to this series, he predominantly played negative roles in movies like Akira, Imaikka Nodigal, and Haddi.

During an interview, Kashyap said of his role, “I have created a lot of characters that are gore, quirky, dark, and many more things but believe it or not it was difficult for me to be one. Kazbe is someone who doesn’t think too much before doing anything, he just does it. He is a dreadful, eccentric, nefarious and a quintessential villain. I had to bite into the intricacies of this character and make it my own. Being directed by Aditya Datt was a great experience and collaborating with partners like Disney+ Hotstar and Fremantle India was incredible.”

As for actor Gulshan Devaiah who is notable for his dark roles in popular movies like Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, A Death in the Gunj and Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela said of his role,  “I had a lot of fun working on Bad Cop because it’s an out-and-out entertainer. I am excited because it’s a very different kind of role for me.I played a different cop in another show as Devilal, but here it’s more like a massy-entertaining kind of cop. I was familiar with Aditya Datt’s style since I had worked with him before, he is very straightforward and wants to make an entertaining, cool show that people will enjoy. The action was a bit tough, particularly the running, which challenged me because I’m not used to doing action and I’m not physically built for it.”

Excitingly, the two leads have a strong connection as Gulshan made his debut in Anurag’s 2010 film ‘The Girl In Yellow Boots’.

Directed by Aditya Datt the release date of this crime-thriller is yet to be disclosed.
