The upcoming venture which is the spinoff of the Keanu Reeves’ John Wick franchise will showcase Ana in a never-seen-before avatar. The Oscar-nominated actress turned into an assassin for this film is officially named From the World of John Wick: Ballerina. Details we get from the ‘Ballerina’ trailer
The trailer which is filled with numerous action sequences starts with a young De Armas sting with a showpiece of a ballerina with covering blood all over her face. It is then a man comes and asks her, “Do you like to dance? I know a school where they teach dancers.” After hearing the question, young Eve Macarro (De Armas’s character) unhesitantly goes with the mysterious men.
The scene then shifts to Eve being trained in the assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma, this is supposedly an institution to stop assassinations. However, things started to change as she tried to find out the killers of her fathers.
This movie seems to take place between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019) and John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023) therefore we can also witness an encounter of Eve with Keanu Reeves’s iconic character John Wick, who gained immense reputation as a professional hitman and legendary assassin having high skills and is on the run from the High Table.
The movie which is finally hitting the theatres has had immense struggles to finally come on screen. Initially shot in 2022, it was later scheduled to be released in June 2024. However, Lionsgate delayed the feature in February by a year to finalize the date on June 6, 2025, because of John Wick’s director Chad Stahelski having associated with the upping of the action.
In fact he worked with Ballerina helmer Len Wiseman on new action sequences of the upcoming venture which was filmed this year.
Apart from Ana prominent actors Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne, the late Lance Reddick, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus and Ian McShane will be seen in pivotal roles in the action-thriller.
