India and Australia are gearing up for the upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 on the 22nd of November. The current ODI and T20 champions will come face-to-face in Perth. Being one of the longest toughest tours of India, they need a high-margin series win to confirm their spot in the finals of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-2024.
Here’s everything you need to know about the iconic test series.
India is going to miss Skipper Rohit Sharma in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy
The 1st day of the 5-day long series will be conducted with skipper Rohit Sharma who is on paternity leave after the birth of his second child.
In his absence vice captain Jaspreet Bumra will supposedly lead the team. Apart from Sharma, opener Shubman Gill was also ruled out of the first match because of a thumb injury.
Despite these obstacles, India needed to win the series in a 4-1 margin for their qualification in the final of WTC.
After the home series horror of getting whitewashed 0-3 by New Zealand, this is the greatest opportunity for the visitors to prove their worth once again in front of the reigning champions of WTC.
All eyes will be on seniors like Virat Kohli and KL Rahul who’ve been going through a bad form as well as Bumrah who has proven as the saviour of the team on multiple occasions.
