Brandon Sklenar addresses never-ending negativity swirling around his It Ends With Us co-stars. The actor has previously defended co-stars Blake Lively and creator Colleen Hoover for the backlash they faced due to lightly tackling the movie’s domestic violence theme. For now, in a recent conversation with Access at the Ralph Lauren show in New York City in September. 5 opened up about the drama surrounding the cast of this upcoming movie after he was asked about his Instagram post defending the women in question. Let’s dive into the complete details of this interaction.
Brandon Sklenar said the negativity among the cast of It Ends with Us is silly
The 34-year-old said after a reporter thanked him for the statement he posted on Instagram, “Thanks for saying that. I put that out and I was like, ‘Let’s see how this goes, I don’t know.’ “
Sklenar continues, “It just seemed silly to me, just kind of defeating the whole purpose of the thing to spread any negativity. It’s an important film for so many women and so many survivors of domestic abuse and that’s what it’s all about, is making people feel heard and strong and loved.”
The actor who plays the role of Atlas, one of the love interests of the movie’s protagonist Lily Bloom (Blake Lively), added, “So to project anything but that just seems counterintuitive. I appreciate those people that appreciated it, for sure.”
In fact, Sklenar even hoped for a comeback with his co-stars if there’s ever a sequel made on the Colleen Hoover adaptation.
“Your guess is as good as mine at this point. I would love to do it, I really would, I would love to do it,” he noted. “I hope we can get it together because I think the fans deserve it. And I’d just love to tell more of Atlas’ story and get into his past a little more. Yeah, it would be beautiful if we can do it. I would love to.”

During the promotional event of the upcoming movie, there was a visible rift between the film’s director and star Justin Baldoni, and producer and actor Blake Lively when they posed differently at the New York City premiere.
Meanwhile, Blake and author Colleen Hoover also faced backlash for lightly tackling the film’s domestic violence. The hate was so much for these women that Sklenar had to come in defense of the two via a statement on his Instagram.
