Jin of BTS is all set to make his first solo single ‘The Astronaut’ with prominent English band Coldplay. The news of this collaboration comes after a week of announcing joining the military service. Moreover, Jin is the first and the oldest member of BTS to join military service. BTS’s agency Big Hit Entertainment also confirmed the news of the collaboration. Let’s look into more details.
‘The Astronaut’ will release ahead of Jin joining the military
On October 20th, Jin posted a poster of Coldplay collaboration ‘The Astronaut’ on BTS’ official social media handles. However, this isn’t the first time collaboration between BTS and Coldplay. They collaborated on the song ‘My Universe’ which even reached number one on the Billboard Hot hundred. Coldplay singer Chris Martin even gifted Jin his guitar. The song will be Jin’s first solo single. Moreover, the 29-year-old has co-written the song with Coldplay. The song will release on October 28 ahead of his officially joining the military.
BTS’s agency Big Hit Entertainment previously announced the news of Jin’s solo project in their statement on 15th October. “Group member Jin will initiate the process as soon as his schedule for his solo release is concluded at the end of October. He will then follow the enlistment procedure of the Korean government”- the statement follows.
Jin also gave a surprise spoiler at the BTS’s Yet To Come concert in Busan. As he prayed for the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo held on October 15th.
Four months ago The Grammy-nominated band also announced a temporary hiatus from a group and forces on solo projects through a YouTube video. The members were seen as emotional in the new path of their careers.
“We promise we will return someday, even more, mature than we are now.”- they said.
