The top boy group in the world, BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan), will reportedly hold a concert in October. The concert is a part of the promotional activities for the Busan World Expo 2030. BTS is the official ambassador for the Busan World Expo 2030.
In a statement, HYBE’s Chairman, Bang Si-Hyuk said, “Given the importance of its bid as a nation to host the World Expo 2030 in Busan, BTS and HYBE will do our best to successfully bring the World Expo to Busan. This will be a great opportunity to contribute to further development of K-Culture.” HYBE is the company BTS is currently under.
First strategy meeting held on July 7
On July 7, the Secretary-General of the 2030 Busan World Expo, Park Jung Wook, held the first strategy meeting. They discussed the promotional activities related to the Expo. In addition to the Secretary-General, the deputy economic mayor of Busan, and Park Ji Won, the CEO of HYBE were also present at the meeting. In addition, the representatives also discussed the plans for BTS’ appointment ceremony as the Expo’s ambassadors. They also discussed their desire to hold a concert in Busan for the Expo, voting strategies, and more. They finally decided that the appointment ceremony will take place later this month. The representatives also decided that the concert will be held in October in Busan.
Secretary-General Park Jung Wook said, “We thank HYBE for their active cooperation. We are confident that BTS’s support for the 2030 Busan World Expo will be of huge strength. We will engage in recruitment negotiations, with the government also doing everything in its capacity.”
The CEO of HYBE also commented, “With the business agreement made with the city of Busan as the foundation, we will propose cooperative measures in various fields and plan to actively cooperate for Busan’s bidding of the 2030 Busan World Expo, a business that is important on a national scale.”
