Charlie Puth shared his feelings on his name-check on Taylor Swift’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department.’ On Monday, Swift took to Instagram to celebrate the record-breaking success of her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department. The album created history by reaching 2.61 million equivalent album units earned in the U.S. for its opening week. Swift wrote in her Instagram alongside a series of photos of her in the studio recording the album, “My mind is blown. After Monday’s moment of celebration to finally react to Swift’s name-dropping of him on the album’s title track, ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ Charlie shared the post in his Instagram story. In the song Swift sings,”You smoked then ate seven bars of chocolate / We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist.”
Afterward, fans took to the “We Don’t Talk Anymore” singer’s comments on TikTok and Instagram, asking him if he was aware of the attention he was getting from the singer.
One fan wrote, “SIR DID YOU HEAR YOUR HONORABLE MENTION IN THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT SONG?!,”Meanwhile, another one wondered, “How are you doing after the Taylor Swift callout.”
The celebrations come after a weekend of supporting her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s best friend and teammate, Patrick Mahomes. On Saturday night the couple attended Mahomes’ 15 and the Mahomies Foundation Gala in Las Vegas, Nevada.
An eyewitness told Entertainment Tonight the couple “walked in holding hands and they were affectionate all night” while supporting Mahomes’ charity initiative in Sin City. It also added that throughout the night, it was “lots of kissing and just overall happiness between them, the support is there for one another.”
“The two seem to be in good spirits and definitely in love,” the eyewitness added.
For now the Grammy Winner is all set to resume on her record-breaking Eras Tour on May 9 in Paris, France.
