Christina Applegate Addressed Her MS Diagnosis in A Sit-Down Interview

Christina Applegate went candid about her health struggles. In a preview of her upcoming Good Morning America sit-down with Robin Roberts the actress addressed her multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosis. Applegate who announced the news of her diagnosis in 2021 was joined by Sopranos star Jamie-Lynn Sigler. Jamie-Lynn was also previously diagnosed with the disease more than 20 years ago. The duo open up about the current struggles of their life. Let’s delve into the entire details of this story.

Christina said she lives kind of in hell

The 52-year-old told interviewer Roberts, “I live kind of in hell. I’m not out a lot, so this is a little difficult just for my system.”  

Moreover, while the Dead To Me star is asked about  her experience at the 2023 Emmy Awards, where she received a standing ovation after walking out on stage with a cane. 

“I actually kind of blacked out,” she recalls the incident . “People said, ‘Oh, you were so funny!’ And I’m like, ‘I don’t even know what I said. I don’t even know what I was doing.’ I got so freaked out that I didn’t even know what was happening any more — and I felt really beloved and it was really a beautiful thing.” 

She goes on adding with her signature wit, “I’m just gonna say, that audience stood up for everybody.” 

The actress is accompanied by her co-star Jamie-Lynn Sigler who also shares the similar circumstances with her. 

Previously, the duo also spoke to People about their friendship. Moreover, they also shared experiences that led to a new podcast, MeSsy, which is coming out on March 19. 

Applegate tells the outlet,”We would talk on the phone for two hours, and we’d be laughing and crying and we were like, ‘This is helping us. Let’s record this. Let’s do it,'” 

Also, Sigler adds, “the way that Christina disarms me and allows me to talk about the hard stuff, I needed desperately.”

In 2021, Applegate first went public with her diagnosis via Tweet in which she wrote, “Hi friends. A few months ago I was diagnosed with MS. It’s been a strange journey. But I have been so supported by people that I know who also have this condition. It’s been a tough road. But as we all know, the road keeps going. Unless some a**hole blocks it.”
