‘Disclaimer’ teaser: Cate Blanchett Entering the World of Dark Drama

Cate Blanchett’s starrer dark drama Disclaimer’s first teaser is finally out. The Alfonso Cuaron-helmed movie will hit the streaming Apple TV this October. Adapted from Renee Knight’s book of the same name this series’ story tends to showcase jaw-dropping psychological thrills while exploring multiple themes of drama, mystery, and others. The book from which the series is adapted successfully became one of the best-selling novels of the author. Therefore, it isn’t hard to say that fans have huge expectations for the upcoming venture. ‘Disclaimer’ will start streaming from October 11

The caption of the teaser reads, “Be aware. DISCLAIMER* – the new seven-chapter psychological thriller written and directed by Alfonso Cuarón, premieres October 11.”

The two-time Oscar winner Blanchett was last seen in the comedy-drama ‘Rumours.’ The short promo of the upcoming series shows the actress protecting some mystery in order to prevent her future from destruction.

As per the book’s storyline of the film, it revolves around a journalist whose career has been built on revealing transgressions. However, she is shattered to find out that she herself is an important character in a long-buried story that can disclose the darkest secrets of her life.

The official synopsis also shared some similar details as it noted, “Acclaimed journalist Catherine Ravenscroft (Blanchett) built her reputation revealing the misdeeds and transgressions of others. When she receives a novel from an unknown author, she is horrified to realize she is now the main character in a story that exposes her darkest secrets. As Catherine races to uncover the writer’s true identity, she is forced to confront her past before it destroys both her own life and her relationships with her husband Robert (Cohen) and their son Nicholas (Smit-McPhee).”

Along with Cate the series also features popular actors like Kevin Kline, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Leslie Manville in pivotal roles. 

With the book’s promising success, it isn’t hard to determine that there are a lot of expectations attached to this upcoming series. According to the following synopsis Cate will be portraying the protagonists Catherine Ravenscroft and her husband Robert and son Nicholas will be portrayed by actors Cohen and Smit-McPhee.
