Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II took her last breath at the age of 96 at Balmoral Castle. She was the longest reigning monarch in the history of Britain with 70 years and 214 days. On 8th September, via the official Twitter account, the royal family confirmed the news, through the statement, “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.” Britain has been moaning about her death. She was crowned at the age of 25 after her father King George VI passed away. Since then she has ruled the nation and people’s hearts with excellence as a ruler. Needless to say, it is a great moment of sorrow for the Royal family and the citizens of Britain.
Doctors were ‘concerned’ with Queen Elizabeth’s health
A few hours before her death Buckingham Palace issued a statement where it started that doctors were concerned about her health. Her closest family members include her son His Majesty King Charles III(then Prince of Wales), Prince Andrew, her daughter Princess Ann, her grandsons Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, Prince William, Duke of Cornwall and Cambridge were supposed to visit her.
In the April of the previous year her husband Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh died at the age of 99. At his funeral Queen’s handwritten note saying ‘ I love you ‘ was placed alongside flowers. She will be buried in the King George VI Memorial Chapel beside her husband, Sister Princess Margaret, mother Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and father King George VI.
People around the world mourn Her Majesty’s death
In February, Queen Elizabeth’s health deteriorate after she tested positive for Covid-19 but she overcome it. But after the first day of her Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June, she experienced “some discomfort”. Because of it, she miss the National Service of Thanksgiving at St. Paul’s Cathedral on June 3.
Her son King Charles III shared a statement mourning his mother’s death. Saying, “The death of my beloved Mother, Her Majesty The Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family.”
The King continues, “We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished Sovereign and a much-loved Mother. I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the Realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world.”
Later on, he continues, “During this period of mourning and change, my family and I will be comforted and sustained by our knowledge of the respect and deep affection in which The Queen was so widely held.”
After the Queen’s passing Prime Minister Liz Truss first address the Prince of Wales as the King.
People all around the world were mourning her death including President of the USA Joe Biden. In her honour Flags at Parliament Hill in Ottawa and the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. was flown at half-mast.
It’s indeed a great shock for the whole nation.
