Good news for the ‘Euphoria’ fans. Season three of the popular series is finally going on the floor. The series’s production has been facing numerous obstacles after tragic death of series star Angus Cloud, the rumors surrounding creator Sam Levinson’s other controversial series, The Idol starring Lily Rose Deep and The Weekend the show’s future seems to be uncertain. However, the dark clouds has finally gone away since Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of HBO programming and head of HBO drama series and films finally said in a statement that the show is heading towards production work from January. Euphoria’s production will begin from January 2025
After multiple reports confirm that the season 3 will start filming from January 2025 Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of HBO programming and head of HBO drama series and films released a statement confirming the news.
“I am thrilled that we are ready to begin production on Euphoria in January,” said Francesca said. “We could not be happier with our creative partnership with Sam and this incredible cast. We look forward to bringing this new season of Euphoria to life for the fans.”
Previously, the show’s star Zendaya who played the role of Ruby “Rue” Bennett, a drug-addicted high schooler struggling with substance abuse said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, “I think it’ll be exciting to explore the characters out of high school. I want to see what Rue looks like in her sobriety journey, how chaotic that might look. But also with all the characters, in the sense where they’re trying to figure out what to do with their lives when high school is over and what kind of people they want to be.”
In an April 2023 interview with Vogue, Euphoria costume designer Heidi Bivens even hinted at a time jump in the series noting, “I’ll do everything I can to make the third season of the show successful. I’m really excited to read the scripts. There is talk of it being approximately five years in the future, and that they’re not in high school anymore. Dorothy’s not in Kansas anymore. I mean, it might be a total trip. Who can say? But knowing Sam’s brain, it’s gonna be exciting, and he will challenge all of us, because he won’t want to repeat himself. It’ll be something new for the audience to discover.”
