A young talent has left the world. Former Alex Collins—who previously played for the Seattle Seahawks and Baltimore Ravens tragically died in a motorcycle accident on Aug. 13. He was only 28 years old at the time of his death. On August 14, the Seahawks paid tribute to the athlete by calling him a “beloved teammate and fan favorite during his two tenures with the team.” Moreover, Collins’s family also released a statement. Alex Collins was pronounced dead at the scene of his accident
As per the sources of NFL.com, on Aug. 13 at around 10:20 p.m. his 2004 Suzuki GSX-R600K motorcycle collided with a Chevrolet Suburban SUV at Lauderdale Lakes, a city located near his hometown of Fort Lauderdale. He was sentenced to death at the scene.
Moreover, his family also released a statement announcing the devastating news, “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Alex Collins this morning. Alex was cherished by his family and friends as well as supporters from all around the world. All who truly know him can attest to his drive, determination, and larger-than-life personality.”
The statement continues, “We kindly request your thoughts and prayers for our family during this difficult time. We ask for privacy as we navigate through our grief.”
Meanwhile, John Schneider, the Seahawk’s executive VP and general manager mourns the loss of the football community. He said, “Alex’s infectious smile and classic river dance skills will forever be missed. Alex would light up a room and be beloved by our entire building.”
