The Friends Reunion is all set to premiere on 27th May. HBO Max has unveiled a full roster of A-list celebrities to join the reunion.
The release date for the blockbuster show came out with a short 40-second teaser. It shows all the six stars – Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer — walking away from the camera.
The teaser is filmed at the same Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank, California, where the iconic series was filmed.
They also revealed that Friends: The Reunion will feature numerous celebrity guests. While some of those names are recognizable to Friends fans, others are a lot more curious.
The special guests include:
David Beckham, Justin Bieber, BTS, James Corden, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Lady Gaga, Elliott Gould, Kit Harington, Larry Hankin, Mindy Kaling, Thomas Lennon, Christina Pickles, Tom Selleck, James Michael Tyler, Maggie Wheeler, Reese Witherspoon, and Malala Yousafzai.
All the six cast members have served as executive producer on the unscripted special episode. They worked alongside Friends creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane, executive producer Kevin Bright, and director Ben Winston.
Friends is one of the most popular TV shows of all times debuted in 1994. It reaped massive ratings until its conclusion in 2004.
“There’s different facets to it, and we already shot packages of things,” Kudrow recently told Rob Lowe in a podcast interview. “I pre-shot something for it already so we’re definitely doing it because I already shot a little something,”
Friends: The Reunion airs on May 27 on HBO Max and marks the one-year anniversary of the WarnerMedia-owned streaming platform. It is said to expand into Latin America and Caribbean markets in June. While the European services will be upgraded late in 2021.
This episode is not going to be telecasted on Disney+ Hotstar, as its HBO does not extend to HBO Max originals. Although their names are somewhat similar, still HBO and HBO Max are entirely separate entities.
