Let’s look into some interesting facts about the singer’s life and career.
Life and Journey of Frizzell D’souza
Born and brought up in Bangalore D’souza possessed a great admiration for music from a very young age. Being an architecture student, music doesn’t seem to be her first choice. Without any professional training or guidance, the success she achieved in her music career is truly commendable. However, with her soothing voice and unique style, she captivated the listeners from the YouTube covers.
Taking from contemporary artists like Hozier, John Mayer, Norah Jones, and Ed Sheeran her writing is as impressive as her singing.
Frizzell’s hard work paid off in 2020 after she made her grand debut with her 5-track EP ‘Drown Away.’
The 24-year-old’s songs “Symmetries”, “Long To Be”, “Just As Easily”, “Drown Away”, and “Foolish Once Again” gained immense popularity among the listeners.
About D’souza’s EP ‘In My Asymmetry’
With this latest EP Frizzell tends to explore the theme of virtue and righteousness. As she noted in an interview of her EP, “The idea of ‘symmetry’ represents a mindset that values clear distinctions between right and wrong, good and bad and doesn’t leave much room for greys. In My Asymmetry is a counterpoint against this mindset.”
Addressing the inspiration for this venture, she shared, “It’s a recognition that the world is much more complex than simple black-and-white categories suggest. There’s a wide range of ideas, experiences, and truths that can’t be neatly put into boxes. It’s a way of celebrating inclusivity, empathy, and a deeper understanding of the complexities of our human experience.”
The singles of this EP ‘Long To Be’ and ‘Paintbrushes in the Ground’ are already impressing the listeners.
