A Frozen winter of 2027 will come to take us back to the castle of Arendelle. Disney officially announced that the third installment in the hit musical will hit the theatres on Nov. 24, 2027. More than a year after Disney CEO Bob Iger declared his goal to bring Elsa, Anna, and their friends back for part 3 of Frozen, the good news is finally here. The cherry on the top is the maker has also confirmed that part 4 is also in progress. Let’s check out the information about the upcoming much-anticipated franchise.
Things to know about Frozen 3
The storyline of the film hasn’t been disclosed yet. However, Jennifer Lee, Disney Animation’s chief creative officer and the co-director of Frozen and Frozen 2, interestingly disclosed that they were ‘blown away’ by the creation of the 3rd part at the BFI London Film Festival last October.
According to Variety, Lee said, “Every morning last week they carved out space for me to work with the creative team on it, and I am blown away and I am so excited.”
During an appearance on The View in November, the voice actor of Olaf, the showman buddy of Elsa and Anna Josh Gad also talked about the film.
“I could share things with you, but Disney would literally escort me out of the building with armed security. No, apparently there are two Frozen sequels in development right now — surprise! Equally surprised — and I know Jennifer Lee, who wrote and directed the first two, is hard at work with the team right now,” the 43-year-old said.
He continued, “I’ve heard a little bit and I can tell you guys, it’s pretty mind-blowing what’s coming. It’s pretty exciting.”
The blockbuster musical also achieved a new milestone recently with the upcoming Disney+ debut of its stage adaptation.
Disney’s social media page said in the announcement, “For the first time in forever… the hit musical FROZEN, filmed LIVE onstage featuring Samantha Barks as Elsa, is coming to #DisneyPlus in 2025! ❄️.”
What is Frozen about?
Based on Hans Christian Andersen’s novel “The Snow Queen” the story revolves around the adventure of Queen Elsa of Arendelle and her sister Princess Anna. The two sisters who initially were best friends but have kept their distance to protect Anna from the magical power of Elsa. The Queen unfortunately leads a long endless winter during her coronation day. However, with the help of Anna and Kristoff Elsa learns to control her power.
