“Godzilla vs. Kong”, The Legendary and Warner Bros movie sets record of remaining atop the domestic box office in it’s third weekend of release.
The movie boosted it’ s North American tally to $80.5 million. Thus, adding another $7.7 million to it.
Because of the pandemic movie theatres across the country have been operating at reduced capacity. Still, the movie managed to cross $100 million in the U.S and Canada.
Hence, Godzilla vs. Kong becomes the first movie to cross this mark since the pandemic.
The film is also available on HBO Max. So, the people who have subscribed to it can watch it for free. Without any extra cost. Furthermore, all Warner Bros movies of 2021 will follow similar release pattern.
Next comes Universal’s “Nobody”. It is an action thriller movie starring Bob Odenkirk and lands second place with $2.5 million. Globally, the film has made $34 million in four weeks and $19 million in the U.S.
Then the third spot is secured by Sony’s “The Unholy”. It made $2 million in it’s third weekend in theatres.
Disney’s action-adventure “Raya and the Last Dragon” came on fourth position. It earned $1.9 million over the weekend.
Securing the fifth rank is Warner Bros “Tom and Jerry”. It is an animated/live-action movie about the ever-favorite cat and mouse duo. The movie pulled in $1.1 million.
Being a Warner Bros film, it is also available on HBO Max for 31 days.
Talking about “Godzilla vs. Kong”, it’ s international box office sales has been excellent. The film has surpassed $300 million in ticket sales. This brought the global haul to a huge $390 million.
The film is very entertaining and breathtaking. It’s exactly what you think it is, no more or less and is very terrific. It can be a little scary too. Still, it’s definitely a must watch!
