The finale of House of the Dragon’s season hasn’t lived up to the expectations of the fans. However, to their relief Ryan Condal, who leads the writing, production and showrunner of the HBO series shared an insight on the plot of season 3. Moreover, he also assured the fans that they didn’t have to wait for it. As The Hollywood Reporter during an Aug. 5 virtual press conference, Condal shared a ray of hope for series’ fans. House of the Dragon Season 3 will start with The Battle of the Gullet
In the August 5 press conference Condal shared, “I apologize for the wait. But… we’re going to pull off a hell of a win with The Battle of the Gullet.”
According to the book ‘Fire & Blood’ from which the series is adapted the Battle of the Gullet will feature a horrific conflict between the back army and the greens who will fight with the help of The Triarchy.
The showrunner also continued, “We are building to that event that will happen very shortly in terms of the storytelling, and it should be the biggest thing to date that we’ve pulled off. We just wanted to have the time and the space to do that at a level that is going to excite and satisfy the fans in the way it’s deserved.”
On top of that, Condal the script writing is in progress and hopefully the series begins production from early 2025.
The news comes day after the controversial final which doesn’t live upto the expectations of the critics and the fans.

House of the Dragon Season 2 Recap
Season two depicts the increasing tension between the blacks and greens. After the death of Prince Lucerys Velaryon at the storm’s end, disputed queen Rhaenyra Targaryen’s uncle-husband Prince Daemon Targaryen ordered the murder of Prince Aemond Targaryen. However, the events ended up causing some unexpected and horrific consequences making the rivalry of the blacks and greens more intense.
With the finale of season two the scenes hinted at the upcoming Battle of the Gullet which was marked as an historical conflict of the Dance of The Dragon.
For now, the season 3’s countdown has begun.
