Ice Spice finally addressed the news of collaborating with Taylor Swift on her upcoming album, ‘Y2K.’ In an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the 2024 BET Awards on Sunday in Los Angeles the rapper opened up about her upcoming album which will release later this month. The duo previously worked together on the remix for Swift’s “Karma” which was immensely loved by the fans. Let’s check out the complete details of this story.
Ice Spice said there will be more than one collab on the album
The 24-year-old jokes about the release of this album, “I’m giving birth July 26. Everybody tune in.”
The rapper previously talked about “crazy collaboration” that was “locked in” earlier this year. However, she has kept silent on the name of the artist involved. However, Ice revealed there will be “more than one” collab on the album.
“There’s a couple,” she said. “That’s all I can say.”
She stunned the red carpet look on 30th June, Sunday in a gorgeous 2004 Versace gown from the fashion house’s Diva Alert collection.
“Like, are you kidding me?” she said of her dress. “This is the inspo right here.”
After her collaboration with Swift’s “Karma” remix the 34-year-old songstress has always been a true supporter of the rising star.
Swift previously said in an audio snippet shared by Spotify, “Collaborating with Ice Spice on ‘Karma’ was one of the most natural things. She reached out through her team, just kind of saying, ‘Hey, Ice has been a big fan of Taylor’s since she was a little kid, would love to collaborate if that was ever something that came about.’”
Sharing her admiration about the rapper the “Anti-Hero” singer noted, “I had been listening to her nonstop, like getting ready for my [Eras] tour, I was just listening to Ice Spice constantly, So I immediately got her number and said, ‘Hey, would you wanna do your version of ‘Karma’? Do you relate to this?’ So she jumped in headfirst.”
Prior to the release of the upcoming album she is now ready to take off her Y2K World Tour.
She shared her excitement of the tour,”I’m doing a little more choreo and I’m excited for that.”
As for the collaboration she said whether it’s Swift or her “Barbie World” and “Princess Diana” collaborator Nicki Minaj “They’re always welcomed.” before noting “They’re busy ladies right on sold-out tours.”
