The upcoming much-anticipated movie Ishq Vishk Rebound starring Rohit Saraf and Pashmina Roshan got delayed. The film which is initially scheduled for release on June 28, 2024, is now shelving it for a little longer. Apart from Rohit Saraf and Pashmina Roshan who is the cousin of Hrithik Roshan newcomers Naina Grewal and Jibraan Khan have also joined the cast. Despite currently looking for distributors for a nationwide release the film is reportedly struggling to find takers. This film which has a similar name as Shahid Kapoor’s 2003 film reportedly didn’t have any similarities with it apart from the title as per the lead Rohit. The source revealed Ishq Vishk Rebound is facing major delays as no major distributor is showing interest
A source of India Today noted,”When the makers announced ‘Ishq Vishk Rebound’ during the pandemic, the excitement around it was huge. However, with the current state of the movie business with absolutely no certainty, the film is struggling to find takers. Despite being fully ready, the film is facing major delays as no major distributor is showing interest in the film for a theatrical release.”
However, producer Ramesh Taurani denied the news by stating it is actually due to the pending filming of some songs the film is getting delayed. He commented, “No, not at all. We have already announced the release date on 28th June, but our two song shoots were pending, which caused the delay.”
Earlier in an interview Rohit Saraf who is the lead of the upcoming movie had spoken about the sequel and also clarified that he is not reprising Shahid Kapoor’s role in the new-age film. Rohit said in the interview, “I am not stepping into Shahid (Kapoor)’s shoes. The only thing that the two films, Ishq Vishk and Ishq Vishk Rebound hold in common is just the name. It is the franchise which is common.”
However, as per the announcement, ‘Ishq Vishk Rebound’ is a sequel to Shahid Kapoor’s 2003 film. The film is all set to hit theatres on June 28, 2024. Produced by Ramesh Taurani of Tips Films and directed by Nipun Avinash Dharmadhikari of ‘Mismatched’ fame the young movie lovers are eagerly looking forward to this film.
