Justin Baldoni has high hopes for the fans to begin a journey with him on the EAC. In an Aug. 23 Instagram video the director and lead star of ‘It Ends With Us’ revealed some of the Easter Eggs he included in the film. Baldoni who costars Blake Lively, Brandon Sklenar, Jenny Slate, and Isabela Ferrer explained that it isn’t possible to add everything from Colleen Hoover’s 2016 novel in the film.
After the movie was released fans pointed out how he excluded Pixar’s 2003 film Finding Nemo’s one iconic dialogue repeated by Ellen DeGeneres’ character Dory that becomes a motivational mantra between Lily and Atlas in the book. However, as per Justin, he did give a nod to it. Let’s check out the absolute details of this segment.
Justin Baldoni revealed the reason he didn’t include the line
Baldoni explained in the video, “Something that I know so many fans love from the book that didn’t make it in the movie, was the phrase ‘just keep swimming’ that Lily and Atlas shared over the course of the book.”
Although the line isn’t directly included in the movie, the director did give a nod to the special line.
“If you watch the movie,” the 40-year-old said, “look in Lily’s bedroom on her wall, there’s a poster. I’m not gonna say what it’s of, but you’ll see a little homage to maybe the movie or the saying if you will.”
Apart from that, there is also another tribute to the Finding Nemo phrase, the time Lily and Atlas as adults reconnect for the first time at his restaurant Root.
“Right by the bathroom,” Baldoni noted, “if you look in between them, there is a frame on the wall with a very similar saying.”
